Just wanted to say thanks again for such a great "honeymoon" trip on the boat - really enjoyed ourselves! We are passing out your cards and making recommendations to friends, keep up the great trips! Hopefully the crew on Saturday let you off the hook without having to do that bird watching sail so far out!

Here are a couple of pictures thought you might enjoy! We'll send an invite when the restaurant opens in the fall, if you ever are in New Jersey, give us a call!

thanks again,
Andrea & Jim Carbine

Thanks Captain Kirk! We want to let you know how much we have loved all THREE of our sailing adventures. Our first trip was as a couple, and since then we have sailed with each set of parents. It was great every time!

What I love is that everyone enjoyed the trip for a different reason. Dad got to be a sailor and “help” you with the boat. Mom was not going to come because she was afraid of getting sea sick, but you got her in the boat and she actually was giggling as we sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge. My father-in-law sat in the same spot the entire trip, but he took about 100 pictures! My mother-in-law said it was “very nice” (believe me that is a huge endorsement).

I just want to thank you again for giving us and our family members great memories to share.

What a blast! Thanks for such an exciting day on the Bay. Mark and I had a wonderful time, and we can't wait until our next sailing adventure.

We had a great sail for my husband's 50th birthday. We got an exciting sailing adventure (sailing in the big breezes near Alcatraz Island) and a relaxing sunset sail when we sailed back to Sausalito. We ate good sandwiches, lots of chocolates and shared a nice bottle of champagne - all included in the price. Our son got to steer and this was his first taste of San Francisco sailing.

Thank you for a wonderful 50th birthday present! We will come back again.

Hi Kirk,

Thanks for your(Brian too) flexibility and nice setup. We really had a wonderful time on the yacht. It was a beautiful experience on that yacht. It would be great if you could let us know once you upgrade your service to multi people charters(meaning bigger yacht!).

PS: please keep prices competitive as you already are doing.

Thanks again,
Cheers

Wow! What an amazing way to celebrate my 40th birthday! And we saw a humpback whale too!!! Thank you Captains Brian and Kirk for making available to the masses such an elegant and indulgent experience! My beautiful city has never looked more inviting than from the deck of your boat! Thank you thank you.....and we'll be back!

Hi Capt. Kirk,

I just wanted to drop an email that I really enjoyed my trip with Capt. Brian one week ago. Nice weather, nice boat, nice company - It was just perfect.

Thanks a lot,

We had an incredible experience sailing on Bay Wolf. The boat was beautiful and the crew was outstanding. My husband used to sail professionally but hadn't done so for many years. He loved that Captain Brian let him take a turn at the helm. It was an unforgettable experience and we can't wait to do it again.

What an experience!!! I have logged many hours this year and have my own sailboat, but the highlight of the season has to be my sailing the yacht Flying Tiger around San Francisco Bay. The view and excitement of the experience was matched by the handling of the Flying Tiger and the 1st class service Capt Brian provided us, the strawberries and chocolate topped it off. The boat responded beautifully, a few degrees off point of wind and we were flying, that must be why they named it the Flying Tiger. My crew mates had a wonderful time, and were surprised that I was able to handle the tiller so well, I was thrilled. I would do it again, I love S.F. and sailing. Thanks again, Wayne Strode - June 19, 2008

Captain Brian, thanks for a fantastic time on the Flying Tiger. My two kids have not stopped talking about it since we got on dry land. Listening to them you'd think they steered the boat the whole way around the bay. We've already loaded the pictures onto Shutterfly and they have made picture posters of the trip and sent their Flying Tiger photo books to their grandparents. This is a memory together that will last a lifetime. Thanks again.

We had a great sail on windy Sf Bay with Capt. Kirk.
His boat is a 50' sloop which is fast and fun and just right for the windy Bay. I got to steer quite a bit, under his careful supervision. It was a real thrill and I'll be back again in a heartbeat. It was also nice to see Kirk's 12 year old daughter lending a hand and learning the ropes. She'll be quite a sailor someday soon!

My wife and I met Captain Kirk in Mexico and he is an excellent captain and Bay Wolf is a great boat. We own a 72’ Andrews sloop and got to sail with Bay Wolf in the Sea of Cortez. We sailed together for two weeks. During this time Captain Kirk sailed with my wife and me on our boat, and we sailed with Captain Kirk on Bay Wolf. We set the spinnaker on Bay Wolf and Captain Kirk helped us to learn helming and trimming skills, both on his boat and on ours. We reached over ten knots in light air.

Captain Kirk has an impressive depth of knowledge. He is a willing and capable teacher and has the ability to convey information without being a “know-it-all”. I have worked with many skippers and delivery captains during our cruises all the way to Panama and Mexico. Captain Kirk is the best – patient, caring and knowledgeable.

There were two times when I had gear failure (one failed block on the mast and one plugged intake hose for the generator). On both occasions Captain Kirk helped me fis the problem – in a way that facilitated my learning process, rather than simply fixing the problem. The result is that the problems were fixed and I learned important skills in the process.

When we returned to San Diego, Captain Kirk and his wife Sachi and two daughters came on a race with us. Kirk and Sachi were great crew and instructors. Their years of racing experience helped us to have a very successful race. We had a good clean start, a great upwind leg and managed to stay with the fleet of locals to earn a respectable finish. On the previous day Captain Kirk helped us set up the asymmetrical spinnaker and figure out what kind of rigging I need to use this massive sail (it is over 2100 square feet). We set the chute and sailed back towards San Diego Bay. In ten knots of breeze we sailed at over 11 knots. Kirk helped us learn the proper trim for the sail and how to get the best speed and keep the boat balanced.

If you need a qualified captain, a terrific teacher and a wonderful boat, then Captain Kirk and Bay Wolf are the perfect choice.

May 2009 - I sailed on Bay Wolf for several days this month and the boat is fantastic. I have owned boats for 40 years and never sailed on a boat that is so responsive and fun to sail as the Santa Cruz 50. Bay Wolf is quicker than most boats in light air and when the wind picks up – watch out - she takes off.

Captain Kirk is an excellent teacher and willing to share his knowledge. In April, Captain Kirk helped me rig and fly the asymmetrical spinnaker on my 41’ Downeaster Pilothouse. I had owned the spinnaker but never figured out how to set it up. Kirk walked me through the rigging and how to “fly the chute”. Once we left the dock, we were able to hoist the sail. It was the talk of the marina how we set the spinnaker and sailed from slip right out of the breakwater! When I sailed on Bay Wolf for two trips earlier this month, Capt Kirk was also helping me to learn tricks for navigation, sail trim, rigging and positioning of jib leads.

Bay Wolf is a wonderful boat and Captain Kirk (and his charming wife Sachi) are excellent skippers. Should you find yourself in the San Francisco area, you will be able to enjoy both their wonderful boat and company for a day sail. B. Alperstein, San Diego

What a wonderful day on the Bay with Brian. We had a great time, experienced some neat "rail down" winds and enjoyed the company of this engaging and intelligent captain.

You can't go wrong if you charter with Captain Kirk and Brian. Make sure you ask him if the boat can sail to Hawaii...

We had a great trip on the bay...thanks Captain Brian!

Our sailing trip in "Bay Wolf" was definitely the highlight of our holiday. Sailing under the Golden Gate in a racing yacht - just amazing! Thanks for the great experience.

Thanks Capitain Kirk! The afternoon was perfect and we loved the experience of sailing with you! The service was excellent. We hope to be back soon.

Thank you for a nice sail. An experience that more people should take advantage of.

We are East Coat sailors, and own our own boat, and it was nice to have someone knowledgeable about the SF Bay take us around without us having to do everything ourselves or worry about the strong currents and other aspects of sailing SF Bay. Brain was a excellent and friendly captain that did this and took us on a relaxing 4 h cruise.

With the favorable winds and currents we were able to sail under and past the Golden Gate Bridge, back along the San Francisco City front towards Alcatraz, then towards the Oakland Bay Bridge, before returning on the other side of Alcatraz to Sausalito.

While Brian sailed the boat mostly himself, numerous times he offered to us to take the helm (steering), which I did for a few minutes. Mostly though, we just wanted to be passengers and Brian made us very comfortable in that respect, not requiring us to do any work if we didn't want.

The whole experience was great. We arrived and within a few minutes were off the dock and out of the harbor; unlike other operations where a lot of your time is spent helping set-up the boat and/or you're charged a fee for this activity. Brian already had this done. There were plenty of drinks and tasty food aboard which Brian served, so no one was hungry or thirsty.

If you are in SF and want a unique experience of a private, quiet, and beautiful boat ride around SF Bay, we recommend Capt Kirk and Brian.

Thanks again for a unique and wonderful experience.

as a novice sailor who loves the sea my expectation for this trip would easily met, or so i thought. but...captain b greeted us in a hurried and unfriendly manner. when food/snack was served; the chips were stale, mustard had expired, there was no red wine and the white was already opened, plain bread off the supermarket shelf, nothing special..was this what i invited my friends and family to experience... everyone was made to feel uncomfortable by a curt captain at the cost of $ 165/hr. we all enjoyed the bay though...

Such a gorgeous day! You and Brian are great company, and hilarious too! Hopefully we'll be back sometime for another sail :)
Thanks again,

Picture a clear blue sky, fresh salt air and a view of the San Francisco skyline that just can’t be had any other way. This was our experience on a recent afternoon when we boarded the sailing vessel Bay Wolf—a sleek Santa Cruz 50—for a three hour cruise.

Everyone from novice to expert had their chance to steer the boat, and Captain Kirk took pains to ensure that it was both fun and exciting. His enthusiasm for sailing and knowledge of the Bay area made the trip even more special. I won’t soon forget my first chance to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge (following Captain Kirk’s instructions, we kept with the tradition of howling at the top of our lungs as we did so).

Even among the many sightseeing opportunities available, spending a couple of hours enjoying Captain Kirk’s Sailing Adventure was the highlight of our visit to the Bay area.

We had the worst sailing adventure ever with Captain Kirk! There were 3 of us & all we had to eat was 1/2 sandwich each & a glass of wine....not the food promised. We wanted a nice relaxing sail & that is NOT what we got. We have since been out with Captain Ron in Monterey & have had wonderful, fun & relaxing cruises. I bet Captain Kirk deletes this post - he only posts "positive" posts
